KISWAHILI
Dondoo kutoka The Passionate State of Mind and Other Aphorisms, 2006 (original 1955), ukurasa wa 72.
ENGLISH TRANSLATION
“Some generations have patience and some are without it. This is one of the most crucial differences between eras. There is a time when the word “eventually” has the soothing effect of a promise, and a time when the word evokes in us bitterness and scorn.”
- Eric Hoffer, American longshoreman, philosopher, and author. Excerpt from The Passionate State of Mind and Other Aphorisms, 2006 (original 1955), page 72.
Kuhusu (About):
KISWAHILI
ENGLISH TRANSLATION
Eric Hoffer (1898?-1983) became popular with his first book The True Believer (1951). Before that, and during the several philosophical books he later published, he retained his working-class habits and environment. He was a voracious reader and writer, autodidact, and books were, reportedly, his only possession.
