I just sent Diana Nyad's PR team an email thanking her for her incredible story and I adore how she seeks to motivate others. These are the force multipliers in human culture, isn't it, Louise? Those who, not only do phenomenal acts themselves, but also want to motivate and encourage OTHERS in their journeys.
Counted among these gems of society are teachers and coaches. I want a teacher to run for President!!
Yes!!! A teacher, a nurse, a social worker... someone who understands what trials and tribulations the average person goes through, the challenges they face, and how we can construct a society that supports all people to achieve miraculous goals in their lives.
And Diana Nyad kept trying the swim from Cuba to Florida! I am extra impressed and drawn to people who try and fail and KEEP AT IT. Louise, when I read Diana was 64 when she did it--my gosh--I have no excuses, lol. I also like how she readily and often gives credit to her dedicated team for--without them--she could not have done this incredible feat. Shoot, even the kindness of strangers contributes to my energy and joy in a day--we do nothing alone. :)
64?!?! I’m 66... Don’t plan on breaking any records except my own. Right now, one more post each week breaks my record. 😉 And your kindness gives me strength. Asante❣️
Quite impressive - and inspirational. I can't even swim*, so she's amazing in my book!
*(But I can float pretty well. ;-)
