Hello Robert. Thank you raising that point. After all, the colonizers had an affinity for the continent, right? Lol. I think what Professor Mnenuka means is having BOTH conditions, that is (1) living on the continent or been displaced AND having the sense that one’s origins are in Africa. So not just an affinity. My Swahili instructor would remind me that second- and later generations of White Zimbabweans are African too. Not just color. Thank you for engaging! :)
