Hi Louise! I would sure think so. People in my CrossFit class are highly encouraged to "scale" their weight. What is the most important is the proper technique, mobility, range of motion, stimulus...and THEN the coaches talk about weight. But technique is #1.

After I read your comments this morning, I looked up CrossFit. I'd never heard of it before this. Looks interesting! There are even a couple of CrossFit gyms in my city of Nagoya. A little far for me to get to, but I see there are many videos on YouTube. I recently bought one of those things (sorry, don't know it in English) that allows you to hang from it to do "dead hangs". Only at the 20-second level, but I can already tell a difference. I guess there are little things (lifting the cat - 5kgs) that can help. 😉
Oh great Louise! Is that the chin-up bar that goes over your door frame? Twenty seconds is very good! Do you cats look at you funny while you are doing it? Lol. We grew up with cats and I know they are so funny, lol.
