Mmerikani, I read this lovely translation and wonder how these words about fidelity and literalism strike the translator in you. It seems to me from how I’ve come to know your work, that you are most faithful to fidelity!
Thank you, Renee! I strive to be faithful to the author's work. If being faithful to the translations means me being late in making a post (a pre-existing, self-imposed deadline--but it still aches not to make it, lol), then I will choose to be late. I feel I am responsible for the care and transfer of the author's work into Swahili--precious like a baby chick or a kitten--and I want to be so careful with it. :) (kitten emoji, lol)
If I were looking for a translator, you would be the person I would ask by your faithfulness to the translations, your responsibility for the care of the author's work. 🙏
