Blessings. Do you know of any online Swahili courses...especially for children?

Hujambo Fr. JahBread! I have not looked for courses on YouTube, but you can see some children's books listed in this paper, near the end, with the section titled Children's Books:

https://journals.openedition.org/africanistes/2485?lang=en. I like this list because many are published out of Dar es Salaam.

Please see the paper's Conclusion and it's handful of Notes at the end to see if the paper aligns with your thinking, which, I am sensing includes anti-colonialism. :)

For language learning apps, I played around with DuoLingo's Swahili for a bit, and that seemed a way to get going. It also must have been free or else I wouldn't have signed up, so nothing to lose! Also, to listen to Swahili, one can listen to Sauti ya Amerika or SBS Swahili online or in podcasts. There is no shame in slowing that audio down to better hear the individual words.

OH and definitely this for language learning: the Bible in Swahili! This would allow one to follow along with the English Bible to learn the Swahili. This was my best language learning technique, actually. The Bible is the most translated book in the world, so super to learn ANY language-ESPECIALLY for low-density languages. I go Amazon for hardcopy or an online website is here: https://www.biblegateway.com/versions/Neno-Bibilia-Takatifu-SNT/#booklist. :)

Siku njema ndugu,

Mmerikani
